Reviews: 10 Top AI Tools For Social Media Content Creation
1. Piktochart AI Carousel Maker
Piktochart has a number of excellent tools for designing visually centered content for specific social media platforms. Piktochart can effortlessly generate an infographic for Facebook or create an image for your Instagram post.
With my future resume-writing business, True North Resumes, in mind, I wanted Piktochart to develop a carousel for Instagram.
First, I described desired images and content in a prompt. Next, I selected a template.
The tool returned a six-slide carousel with tips on customizing a resume for a specific job description.
Text and images were fully editable.
The tool produced a carousel I could post that day, saving hours in design time. I didn’t have to worry about image dimensions for Instagram, cutting and pasting content into the design, or selecting images for each slide.
On the other hand, some of the images in the “tailor your resume” theme were simplistic and stretched the metaphor more than I would like. The slide headers were also simplistic. Overall, I was pleased by time saved and reduced worry over formatting.

2. Social Bee CoPilot
The days of “spray and pray” with social media content are gone. Successful content creation relies on knowing what, when, and where to post.
Social Bee’s CoPilot tool makes strategizing for social media easy. With the free trial, CoPilot asked a series of questions to understand my business goals.
Based on my input, CoPilot guided me through connecting my preferred social channels, recommended optimal content formats, and generated a posting schedule focused on my target clients.
Our final step was designing my first post for LinkedIn.
I put together my plan for posting and developed the post in about half an hour. Its visuals are in line with other industry brands.

3. AdCreative.ai Competitor Insights
AdCreative.ai is a versatile platform, well-known for using AI to develop professional-looking ads and creative collateral. I tested a lesser-known tool – an AI-facilitated research portal for diving deep into your competitor’s website and social performance.
Before getting to the competitive research, the app collected my brand information. It asked just enough questions to build a clear picture of my test business.
With information on my business, the app asked which competitors to research. I picked a heavily trafficked career site as an aspirational competitor. In moments, I had a comprehensive report with detailed information about who visits their site.
The report (available online and as a PDF) included gender, age, household size, income level and education of site visitors. Most important for social content creation, there was a section noting which social media platforms users visited.
I learned a lot about my competitor in moments. With their audience demographics, social channel usage and website performance, I could develop a strategy competing with them for engagement and customers. The report was easy to follow, and the PDF version was a nice touch. However, I would probably have to stick to the starter plan to be able to afford the tool once the trial period (only 7 days) ended.

AdCreative.ai can help solopreneurs, small business owners and social media strategists who need quality online intelligence data on competitors.

- Ultimate Plan: from $599/mo

4. Writesonic
Writesonic offers multiple AI-driven tools to create social media content. I decided to test its long-form blog content generator.
Writesonic offers three approaches to selecting content topics. I chose the AI topic-clustering option.
Using True North Resumes, I chose “resume writing tips” as a content pillar. The tool suggested an interesting-sounding blog topic, “15 Professional Resume Writing Tips That Actually Work in 2025.”
The content-creation part of the tool developed a 1,600 word article in under five minutes.
It included an FAQ section with answers to common resume-writing questions.
By now, it’s common knowledge that AI-generated content does not come “ready for prime time.”Here, I had to update the title because the tool did not deliver the promised 15 tips.
I also made changes where secondary keywords seemed randomly inserted. Finally, I deleted an entire section on “write your elevator pitch” with no real connection to the rest of the post.
However, given how little input I gave the tool, Writesonic delivered quality content far faster than I could write. Since I have editing experience and don’t mind revising content, it was easy to work with what the tool supplied.
Writesonic – Best Suited For
Writesonce aids business owners or solopreneurs needing to generate substantial articles for sharing on social media but lacking resources to hire or skill to do it themselves.
Use Cases
- Add content without adding headcount/budget
- Improve content posting frequency
- Improve content quality/SEO optimization
Pros
- Multiple content customization options
- Simple editing interface
- Content quality is good
Cons
- Claims of writing content “100x faster” seem exaggerated
- Content still needs careful editing
Pricing
- Free Plan: 25 one-time credits (no time limit)
- Individual Plan: $16/month, 100 monthly credits
- Standard Plan: $79/month, 1,000 monthly credits
- Enterprise Plan: custom quote
5. Copy.ai Workflow Builder
Much of the focus with gen AI applications has been images or written content. However, one of the compelling arguments for gen AI is its ability to automate repetitive tasks and to adapt and optimize on the fly.
Copy.ai positions itself as a robust, comprehensive go-to-market platform. Its workflow capability enables a social media content creator to bundle the most common steps in the content creation cycle quickly and reliably.
I set up a simple AI workflow to test Copy.ai’s capabilities. I devised a flow to take the URL of a website and do the following:
- Scrape the home page and provide a summary of the content
- Provide the meta title for the home page
- Provide the home page’s meta description
- Produce a sitemap for the website
I tested the workflow by entering the domain of another aspirational competitor for True North Resumes. The automation delivered exactly what I was seeking, instantly.
Thinking in terms of how to optimize content workflows with AI is new to me, but Copy.ai has many explanatory videos and articles to help users. I love the idea of reducing time spent on repetitive tasks barely related to content creation.
Once you’ve assembled a workflow, you’ll need to test it. Sometimes the workflows don’t work the first time, and it takes the app a while to render your workflow.
Copy.ai Workflow Builder – Best Suited For
Copy.ai is best suited for social media content creators and business owners needing to alleviate bottlenecks in content creation.
Use Cases
- Simplify content creation process
- Automate simple prep/research tasks
- Focus available time on ensuring content quality

- Interface is intuitive
- Workflow testing function
- “Free forever option” requires no credit card
Cons
- Workflows don’t always work as expected
- Output for app is generally slow
Pricing
- Free Plan: Use up to 2,000 words in chat, no time limit
- Starter Plan: $49/month
- Advanced Plan: $249/month
- Enterprise Plan: custom quote
6. Canva AI Logo Generator
Long-time visual content creation app Canva has joined the gen AI fray with a number of AI-powered applications for graphic design. Pondering a logo design idea for True North Resumes centering a compass, I chose the Free AI Logo Generator.
The interface for providing prompts was extremely easy to use.
The logo generator struggled with image details. The screenshot below was my second prompt. I wanted the app to properly align the cardinal directions, as on a compass rose, with the four directions oriented correctly.
The AI Logo Generator had its own ideas about how the compass should look. On the third or fourth round of prompting, I asked for a more abstract logo idea incorporating a map and the name of the business, as well as a compass, and the result was closer to being usable.
The continual output of misspelled logo text and compasses that did not look like real compasses (because it could not understand where the directional letters were supposed to go) was extremely frustrating.
On the other hand, the tool gave me the power to play with different looks, type fonts, and colors on my logo. This ability to “concept” the image could be a huge help in communicating my logo vision to a human designer.
Canva AI Logo Creator Apps – Best Suited For
Canva’s AI logo creator apps can help business owners and social media content creators needing a fast, text-based method for generating logo ideas.
Use Cases
- Initial branding conversations
- Concepting logo ideas before assigning a designer

- Works seamlessly with Canva platform
- No graphic design skills needed

- Logo text had multiple spelling errors
- Imagery can lack originality

- Canva Team: $300/year (three persons)
7. Vista Create Photo Background Removal
Vista Create (formerly Crello) is another established player offering visual-content AI tools. Given how heavily some social media platforms rely on photo images (Facebook and Instagram, for example), I wanted to try Vista Create’s photo background removal tool.
I picked a photo of a handsome professional in business attire and set out to remove the outdoor imagery behind him.
Vista Create’s interface is foolproof; there’s not a lot of complexity. Push a button, wait, and the app removes the background.
Shortly, I had the image of my sharply-dressed professional, ready to place on a new background. The app asked for feedback, in the form of smiley and sad faces in the upper left corner, to help the AI understand how well it did and how it can improve in the future.
Of all the tools tested for this article, this one was simplest to use. Pick a photo, and the tool finds the background and removes it. This is a huge benefit when an image you want to use has an inappropriate background.
On the down side, you can’t test the tool with the free version of the app. You have to sign up for a free 14-day trial of the Pro plan to see what the app can do.
Vista Create Photo Background Removal – Best Suited For
Vista Create Photo Background Removal tool is great for social media content creators without a graphic design background.
Use Cases
- Profile photos
- Product photos
- Creative “edits” of group or team photos
Pros
- Foolproof interface
- Outstanding results
- Provides photo image canvases in common social media dimensions
Cons
- Must sign up for Pro plan option to use the tool
- Users have reported download issues with images
Pricing
- Free Starter Plan: DOES NOT include the AI photo background removal tool
- Pro Plan: $120/year, includes a 14-day free trial
8. InVideo AI
Most social media content creators today know simply creating text-based content doesn’t make messaging stand out. InVideo can create a video reel from a text prompt or an uploaded script.
Invideo AI helps you create entertaining, informative, engaging reels to reach followers, boost your sales, or generate buzz for an upcoming event.
After signing up for InVideo, I was taken to a prompt screen where I described the video I wanted to make. Next came a series of choices about what type of video to make.
InVideo can create AI animated features or tap a vast trove of stock footage for your program. I chose to make a one-minute explainer video formatted to post on YouTube entitled “3 Reasons To Hire A Professional Resume Writer.”
In about five minutes, the app produced a video with a professional-sounding narrator, slick transitions and upbeat background music.
One great feature of the InVideo app is editing through drag-and-drop and other intuitive methods, rather than having to master complicated audio or video editing interfaces. I decided to change the first video clip from the “stressed girl in her bedroom” shot above to a more professional woman sitting at a desk (see below).
For short reels, especially if you use a script for a prompt, and if you’re willing to use the editing interface to fine tune the output, you can create a serviceable video in less than an hour.
Some stock image and footage choices by AI are pretty cringe-worthy. Luckily, there is an upload option to bring your own royalty-free assets to your video.
InVideo AI – Best Suited For
InVideo can help social media managers and solopreneurs generate professional-looking videos quickly on a budget.
Use Cases
- Explainer videos
- Product demos
- Event preview/review
- Embed videos in presentations
Pros
- Generate videos from any text
- Intuitive editing controls
- AI-generated footage available
Cons
- AI footage generation only on paid plans
- Users report slow loading and rendering times
Pricing
- Free Plan: 10 minutes of video/week, no credit card for sign up
- Plus Plan: 50 minutes of AI generation/month, $28/month
- Max Plan: 200 minutes of AI generation/month, $48/mo
- Generative Plan: 200 minutes of AI generation/month + additional features, $96/mo
9. Loom AI
With InVideo, you use AI to create a video from a text prompt. With Loom’s AI tools you create a text-based document from a video.
Social media content creators will appreciate the way Loom allows them to demonstrate use of software, correct an online problem, or present screen-based information available on demand.
To test Loom’s capabilities, I created a short screencast demonstrating how I analyze LinkedIn job descriptions to understand what keywords to use in a resume targeting that position.
I used the Loom app on my phone to record the video, then switched to the desktop app to finish the process.
Reviewing the video, I found a lot of filler words like “um” and “ahh.” Using Loom’s filler word reducer (powered by AI), the tool removed 11 filler words and shortened the video by about 3 seconds.
With the video I wanted, I created a step-by-step guide using the tool. The guide can be used to create another social media asset (such as an Instagram carousel), extending the usefulness of the original content.
Loom’s recording, rendering and output process were fast. I calculated I could do an ongoing series of posts using Loom to post videos for True North Resumes on LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram, taking less than an hour a week to go from idea to finished product.
My only regrets with the Loom platform are that it lacks advanced editing tools, and there are so few types of text-based output that can be derived from the video.
Loom AI – Best Suited For
Loom’s AI tools can boost content creators who need to produce screencast-focused video reels.
Use Cases
- How-to videos
- Software demos
- Personalized product videos
- Online platform walk-throughs
Pros
- Intuitive interface
- Fast render times
- Audio customization tools
Cons
- Few advanced video editing tools
- Text output formats limited
- Free plan limits on video quality and video length
Pricing
- Starter Plan: free, 5-minute video recording limit, 25 total videos/screenshots limit
- Business Plan: $15/mo
- Business + AI Plan: $20/mo
- Enterprise Plan: custom quote
10. AI Assistant Buffer
With all the pieces of your AI-powered social media content process ready to go, a tool to help optimize use, deployment and repurposing of content is essential. Buffer AI Assistant takes users from the initial spark of an idea to the wise use and re-use of impactful content.
To test Buffer AI, I connected two of the three social channels allowed on the free plan.
The tool has a kanban-style section to easily track development of new content ideas.
You can also use AI to generate ideas or to draft content based on an idea suggested by the AI interface.
When your content is ready, it’s easy to schedule your post’s appearance on the social media channel of your choice.
Buffer AI Assistant also allows tracking all your content from registered channels in one place, whether posted through Buffer or not.
It may be best used as an end-to-end content creation system. While I loved the kanban-style content tracking system, I found it less useful for just managing the posting of numerous posts.
Buffer is structured to handle all aspects of a high-volume content operation – not just scheduling and posting. If you need to execute a complex content strategy using multiple channels and posting times, and repurpose content across channels, this tool is a great option.
Buffer AI Assistant – Best Suited For
Buffer’s AI Assistant helps busy social media content creators manage a high-volume posting schedule over multiple social channels.
Use Cases
- Idea and content generation
- Updating and reusing content
- Tracking content fulfillment
- Building a global analytics dashboard
Pros
- Comprehensive set of AI tools
- AI support throughout the content lifecycle
- Kanban-style tracker
- Expansive free plan
Cons
- Some social media accounts hard to connect
- Per-channel pricing plans can be expensive
- Users report occasional posting or connection issues
Pricing
- Free Plan: no time limit, 10 posts per channel
- Essentials Plan: $5/channel/month
- Team Plan: $10/channel/month
